The African Development Bank (AfDB) Group, on Tuesday, announced the 18-month debarment of Sargittarius Nigeria Limited and its affiliates, including Sargittarius Henan Water Conservancy Engineering Limited, with effect from July 28.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This is according to a statement from the AfDB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The statement noted that Sargittarius Nigeria Limited is a limited liability company registered in Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An investigation conducted by the bank\u2019s Office of Integrity and Anti-Corruption established that Sargittarius Nigeria Limited engaged in fraudulent practices during tenders for the construction of water infrastructure in Ibadan, Nigeria, under the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Project was aimed at improving access to safe water supply and sanitation services in the cities of Ibadan and Jalingo, Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was also co-financed by the African Development Fund, an entity of the AfDB group, and the government of Nigeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
