{"id":4614,"date":"2021-06-16T13:13:46","date_gmt":"2021-06-16T13:13:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carlcon.com\/?p=4614"},"modified":"2021-06-16T13:13:48","modified_gmt":"2021-06-16T13:13:48","slug":"nigeria-south-africa-trade-hits-29bn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carlcon.com\/old\/2021\/06\/16\/nigeria-south-africa-trade-hits-29bn\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria, South Africa trade hits $2,9bn"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The trade between Nigeria and South Africa has peaked at $2.9 billion, expecting a further boost with implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) agreement.<br>Nigeria\u2019s Consul General, Malik Abdul, in a statement, noted that Nigeria accounts for 64 per cent of South Africa\u2019s trade in West Africa and is one of his country\u2019s top three sources of crude oil.<br>He further added that in 2020, South Africa imported R35 billion ($2.48 billion) worth of goods, predominantly crude oil from Nigeria and exported R6 billion ($425milion) to Nigeria.<br>\u201cSouth Africa is currently among the top 10 per cent of investors in Nigeria, globally and Nigeria is South Africa\u2019s 10th biggest export market in Africa and thirty-second globally.<br>Nigeria accounts for 64 per cent of South Africa\u2019s trade with West Africa and is one of South Africa\u2019s top three sources of crude oil.<br>\u201cAlso, Nigeria in 2020 was South Africa\u2019s top import market in Africa and sixth globally, after China, Germany, USA, India and Saudi Arabia.
